Parks, Sports, Recreation & Community Spaces

Old Kildonan is home to beautiful parks and recreation facilities that bring our community together. I will continue advocating for investments in playgrounds, sports fields, pathways, green spaces, and community centres that encourage active, healthy lifestyles for residents of every age. Quality recreational spaces strengthen neighbourhood connections and improve our quality of life.

Improving Infrastructure

Maintaining and improving our infrastructure is one of the City’s most important responsibilities. I will continue advocating for investments in roads, sidewalks, active transportation routes, drainage improvements, and reliable municipal services. Protecting our infrastructure today helps ensure Old Kildonan remains a safe, connected, and vibrant community for years to come.

Safer Neighbourhoods with Community Partners

Safe neighbourhoods are the foundation of a strong community. I remain committed to working with residents, the Winnipeg Police Service, community organizations, and City departments to improve public safety through better lighting, traffic calming measures, safer intersections, and neighbourhood crime prevention initiatives. Together, we can continue creating communities where families, seniors, and businesses feel safe and supported.

Investing in Youth Leadership

Creating more opportunities for local youth to learn, work, lead and contribute. This includes championing infrastructure investments that create employment opportunities for youth and skilled trades, supporting the City Hall Page Program and other civic leadership opportunities, and expanding access to recreation, sports, community programs and volunteer opportunities.

Building a Stronger Old Kildonan

As our community grows, thoughtful planning is essential. Together, we have renewed roads and neighbourhood streets, improved parks, sports and recreation facilities and advanced traffic-calming. We’ve also supported public safety measures, accessible public spaces and helped our community grow with the infrastructure and amenities residents need while investing in opportunities for our youth.

My record working with residents, community organizations, City departments, the Winnipeg Police Service and other partners to turn local concerns into practical action. Advocating for safer intersections, railway crossings to supporting new basketball and pickleball courts, community spaces, walking paths and a public library.  I remain committed to protecting taxpayers through disciplined and transparent financial management because our progress has always been about improving everyday life.
